ADHD and Disorganization
Bottom line is that you are not an organized person, never
were, never will be! Right? Wrong! You simply cannot understanding
how any one can stay on top of all the papers and myriad responsibilities
thrown at them every day. Do these examples sound familiar?
- Friends have stopped inviting you over because you never
reciprocate. Of course you never invite them over —
you can’t imagine what they’d think of the mess
you live in!
- No matter how many different systems you have tried,
you just can’t seem to stay organized.
- Magazines that come in through the mailbox every day
get stacked unread in the corner of your living room laughing
at you, waiting for the day you finally get to them.
- Paying bills is an ordeal! You have to search through
stacks of paper in every room of your home. You often pay
late, and even if you do write your checks on-time, it doesn't
mean that it will be mailed on-time!
- Your kids seem to be just like you. You get on their
case to clean their rooms and to stay on top of their homework....
but in the back of your mind you wonder how you can expect
more from them in light of the disorganized and growing
stack of paper on your desk.
These are all very real examples of how disorganization can
affect adults. There are ways to deal with these problems.
There are ways to channel your energy in new ways to help
you put things away and find them when you need them. There
are ways to schedule your time so that you can get your bills
paid on time and avoid all those ridiculous late fees. There
are ways that you can manage your things more effectively
so that you can feel confident inviting friends over for a
dinner party.
I can help you discover these ways. I can work with you in
an understanding and insightful manner to help you discover
how to best exploit your strengths, how to compensate for
your weaknesses, and how to reach your potential.
